Arguably the top four is going to be harder to predict than for many a year.  Most of the usual suspects are under new or nearly-new management and not all of those will turn out as hoped or expected.  Plus if corners are now going to be policed as they should, Arsenal are somehow going to have to score more goals from open play.

All things considered, there might be a surprise finisher in the top places and if we embed our new players quickly, there's no reason that it can't be us.

If we’re signing who we have so far and kept the ones we’ve sold, I’d agree with Topdeck.  But we haven’t so I think we could just as well struggle.  Lose Konsa too and I think we might struggle a bit in comparison with previous Emery seasons.

I think Konsa would be a lot harder to replace than Tielemans or Rogers, I think he has been excellent for a number of years now.

I may be in a very small minority here but I was frustrated with Ezri last season. In this age of ball playing central defenders, I find him lacking and stalling our progress at getting the ball quicker to more able ball players In the team. His natural reaction is mostly to play the ball sideways or delay the pass to Cash who is then immediately under pressure.

I agree in part with that, Emery’s first instruction was to get defenders comfortable with the ball and he did it well. Now that we’ve mastered that we’ve moved on but Konsa less so. I like Konsa but he does have a habit of dawdling with the ball to no effect.
He’s a great defender though and we need to keep him.

Absolutely agree with this. So glad I’m not the only one who sees Konsa this way. He takes an absolute age to move the ball forwards, with the end result almost always being a tap sideways to Cash. It’s the main reason we break so slowly compared to other teams.

Not for me, I think he’s quite progressive and rarely caught out. Put him next to Tyrone and compare. I want defenders that can defend as the absolute priority, but can also get out of tight spots. I mean it would be lovely to have every attribute available, but we ain’t Real Madrid

Runs with it well, often breaking the press though. Ball playing centre back he ain't but covers the space really well. We need somebody quick next to Torres. Rarely injured. Ticks a lot of boxes for Emery let's be honest.

Such a dependable player and misses very few games through injury. He’s got at least another five years at the top of his game, so I hope he isn’t allowed to leave cheaply; we certainly need to bat away any offers under £50mill and ideally look to get well above £60mill if we are going down that route.

Konsa and Mings together frustrated the life out of me last season, to the point I said on here I am sure I would start Lindelof over him towards the end of the season. He got back to his best last 4-5 games in fairness, but the amount of times he and Mings were painfully indecisive and then played us into trouble together was scary. He was top of my “if you have to sell” list this summer, but with Onana out, Youri, Digne and Rogers gone, we need some leaders in the squad so would like to keep him another season.

Don’t forget, hanging on to the ball and waiting for players to press is fundamental to Emerys tactics .
