They could buy Konsa + £20m now (whilst Saliba is injured and their greatest need), and then complete the Rogers deal in January (-£20m).

That might suit most parties and avoid the spotlight of “the man”/fifa/uefa

If there's a 20m swing on both how do you prove it. I bet if we all said how much we think Konsa should cost there'd be a big gap between the top and bottom valuations.

Ezri Konsa has two years remaining on his contract at Villa Park & has been open to discussing a new one. So far no agreement has been reached, with Konsa looking to be one of Villa’s top earners alongside Emi Martínez. At this stage, he is thought to be keeping an open mind on his future.

We have shown that if you have 2 years left and won't sign a new contract that we'll bin you off, so it wouldn't be a shock to see him go if he doesn't sign.

£150m the pair, £60m+£90m v £40mn+ £110m , £30m+£120m

I don't think there'd be a legitimate huge argument either way. You could argue the total value could be worth more or a bit less but if the Saliba thing is serious,.Konsa's value increases...

Both played internationally for the past couple of years leading to the World Cup, both won  a trophy, both have low transfer cost to us.

How about we just do the decent thing and not sell either.

This seems to be the case. Can't have chaps hanging around who won't sign new contracts.

I would like to keep him because of the disruption it may cause if he left, but I assume we have made contingency plans.

Personally I think this is a great policy by the owners.

And if to sign a new contract he wants £150k or £200k a week for 4 years? See Tielemans, Youri.

In the case of Konsa, it's harder to see how we can keep him than to imagine how he might leave. And that would seem to point in only one direction.

Never really sure how much store to put on things like this, but there was also a bit of niggle with the fans during the season (rather like there was between Tielemans and Emery). Things like that surely make the leaving decision easier for the player, though.

I'd be shocked if Rogers stays, but think Konsa will stay.

I think with 2 big names going for goos money Konsa and Watkins unlikely to do so

Well, now that Arse aren't going to be spending £85-90m on Rogers, if they really want Konsa our starting point for negotiations should be £50m.

I dread to think how much it would cost to replace Konsa. 100% reliable , rarely injured and (up until last week) first choice England international. Surely he’s getting a bumper new contract
