Strange how Konsa is anywhere near starting for England given his club form this season. Kyle Walker too.

I found this ( Ezri’s stats from last night) which may explain Tuchel’s choice

Konsa v Albania

Hope it works!

He looks the part playing for England, I think he's made that shirt his.

I thought he was really good in what I saw last night.

He made a couple of interceptions where if he doesn't get them right, they're in on goal.

Definitely feels as though him and Guehi are the players who currently "have the shirt".

Unless he's really dropped the ball in training or Tuchel has a hard-on for Colwill from his Chelsea days you'd think that'll be the centre-back pairing until something comes up that means it shouldn't be.
Probably until Stones is fit again to be honest.

He never is these days, I think he's done

BBC pundits Glen Murray and Nedum Onuoha were both in agreement when they reflected on England's comfortable win over Albania on Friday night - Ezri Konsa rarely gets the credit he deserves.

Murray: We have shone a light on Lewis-Skelly and Dan Burn, and rightly so, but I must say that I thought Ezri Konsa was exceptional in that back four”

Onuoha: For me, Konsa is one of the best centre backs in the Premier League, but he doesn't get mentioned. He's so consistent in terms of how he defends, what he is like on the ball, putting his body on the line, reading the game, I think he's brilliant."

The Guardian thinks he’s the most likely to be replaced ( by Stones).
I don’t think they were watching the same match(es).

Guehi has the left sided centre back place at the moment with the only likely challenge being from Branthwaite. I think given Stones experience and profile it’s likely that, when or if he’s fit, he’ll be in the team. Unfortunately that’ll be at the expense of Konsa who has done nothing wrong.

I think his injury record is catching up with him.
Tuchel will not want to build a defence around a player that is becoming unreliable because of fitness issues.
Stones will need to put a long run of games together.
