I wonder if Southgate has thought about playing a similar way to Villa i.e. having a right back who can play as a third centre back when we're in possession and push Chilwell or Shaw forwards (I know both Chilwell and Shaw are either injured or in shocking form, just raising a question about tactics).

Southgate and tactics, there’s two words you don’t often see together.

Yeah, I know. I expected it to be a reason to beat him with a stick as he's clearly no Emery.

He does like to copy other managers, as that 'RB moving into midfield' phase has proven...

I wonder when the Konsa to Arsenal / Spurs / Manchester / Liverpool stories will start now he's an England player?

Konsa at RB for England? Yikes, he struggles enough at Villa but fair play to him. Didn't know they were that stuck. Can Matty Cash rescind the Pole in him and offer himself up as an option for the country where he's been born and bred?

There is a good chance that Southgate thinks he is a RB as the the few times he has watched us he might have been playing there.

Interesting to see Southgate mention how Ezri marked Vinicius Jr. I didn't expect that. [engages cynic mode] Unless of course it's part of a narrative where Southgate encourages him to move to one the 'preferred' clubs.

Unfortunately for us, I suspect Konsa will be playing most, if not all the match on Tuesday. I would have preferred the rest for both him and Watkins.

As long as he comes through it ok, the experience will be good for him and it will have been a real boost to him.

We have to get past worrying about our players getting hurt or hoping they don’t play when on international duty. The better we get the more players we will get participating or starting for their countries. And it’s exactly where they all want to be. None of us want our lads to get hurt but it happens. And it will be shit when it happens again playing for their country or in training as we’ve unfortunately seen.

The better we become the more international players will be created and will be away on various trips

We have to get used to it
