I like Konsa, he just gets on with it, no fuss, no real drama.

I like the fact than anything kicks off on the pitch, especially with out younger players, and he is straight in there.

Top player - if we had a decent national coach he would be gathering up caps as well as 150+ games for Villa

Good news. For that we paid (was it Ł12m?) he's been a bargain.

Yep, about that. You'd have to put that signing entirely down to Dean Smith due to the Brentford connection, and in that sense probably his best bit of business.

Luiz? Mings? (I almost added McGinn but Spud bought him the summer before. )

Smith actually tipped him to be a future England player when we signed him.

He also saw the hunger to succeed in the eyes of Danny Drinkwater

I meant as in the signing was purely down to Smith, rather than Pitarch or anybody else having an input.

Well done, Ezri. Fully deserved.

Funnily enough I was wondering after the Palace game how long he had to go on his current deal. Now I can stop worrying.

Think credit due to him over the last few games, very calm with the ball, massive turn around

That point, mid first half where he played Antonio out on the right and simply mashed him with skill, was superb; calm, in control and confident.

He's just showing that the promise we thought was there is coming to fruition.

Konsa is playing so well at the moment. He was decent in a difficult first year for us but brilliant in the Covid year. His formed seemed to dip a bit although he was never bad as such thereafter but since the Sultan arrived, he's been imperious. He was my man of the match today in the face of some pretty stiff competition.

You can also tell that he's a really good teammate. He's always one of the first to defend others and he seems to mix well. Now he's also proven that he can lead the defence in the absence of big Tyrone. Deserves a shit ton of praise at the moment, he's ace.

Ezri is potentially eligible to play for three at least other counties*

I'd love it if Southgate called him up and Konsa told him to shove it

* Da Wiki "Konsa was born to a Congolese (DRC) father and an Angolan mother. He is also eligible for Portuguese citizenship"

The most improved player under Emery maybe?  I mean they've all improved, but his form this season has been outstanding.
