There was a bit last night towards the end where he took the ball down, and did a sort of keep-uppy before turning on the spot and playing the ball. Reminded me of a certain defender from a while ago...

Andy Comyn?

Silly Billy!!  He means Brendan Ormsby!

Another vote here for a new, long contract. 5 years please.

A new contract must be a priority in the summer.  A quick way to eliminate any speculation about his future, not to mention deserved.

I'd prefer it done ASAP. I'd be amazed if he's not already on Liverpool's radar.

I don't think it matters one bit if he is on their radar, under these owners we haven't sold a single player that we've wanted to keep.

Ahem, Brendan Ormsby was a friend of the family, in poor health now unfortunately....though take the point being made in relation to Konsa.

Konsa is a class act and villa fans have all know for nearly a year what the general football world have just discovered.
Agree with the general consensus, sign him up ASAP

I'd prefer we have our house in order rather than somebody coming along to test our mettle. Agents are scumbags. Konsa is pure class, an absolute joy to watch. The fact he's only 22 is mind blowing, he reads the game like a veteran and his style is so suited to international football. Something that won't have gone unnoticed.

How have you not realised that Gareth Southgate is an utter moron?! ;)

Oh I know but I thought even he would have connected the dots by now.

If he really thinks that a fat, slow, shit midfielder like Dier is a better option, then he deserves all the failure that is ultimately coming his way.

It's my view that southgate is very much in the pockets of the sky 6. Whilst pointless speculation surrounds Ezri, one of those clubs will needlessly feel they can get him cheaper as an uncapped player. It was the same with Jack. Sign Ezri up to a long term deal and I'm sure international recognition will follow and the sky 6 clubs will crawl back under the nearest rock again. The guy is pure class, so reward him and make him a mainstay of our defence for years to come.

I don't buy the "in the pocket of" stuff about Southgate.  I just think the players in those top 6-ish positions tend to get the benefit of the doubt because they're mostly playing in sides that perform better more regularly, and they play (or have played) European football, which is closer to International football than the Premier League.  It doesn't make them automatic choices, and good players will always break through, but it's an obvious advantage they have in the eyes of Southgate (and other England managers before him).

I wouldn't swap Ezri for Eric Dier plus £20m, but I can understand why Southgate has picked him, given he's been part of his squads for years, and has been playing European football.  It's shit, but I understand why it's shit.

fucking Eric Dier who cannot get into his own team. But he is somehow better than one of the brightest prospects in his actual position than a shit midfielder shunted into CB where he is even shitter.

When one of you figures out what on earth is going on inside Southgate's head when he's thinking about selections, you can move on to Eddie Jones.
His choices are even more bizarre
