When he first joined, Dean Smith said he would play for England. At the time it sounded like quite an outlandish thing to say but the way he's improved since we came back from the first lockdown...wow! You can see what Dean meant. It's quite refreshing to have a manager who seems to have a very keen eye for talent or at least, potential. I think he said similar about Targett too and most of us were wondering last season what he saw in him but we've all come to see that this season.

I’m still in shock in respect to Targets improvement.

A good example of giving players time to settle and improve. Looked poor last season but excellent this. Not as great with Jack to link up to going forward though

Got the threads mixed up.

Yep, absolutely class again tonight. Must get a call-up.

A new contract is what he needs. A long and lucrative one.

Getting him and Martinez on 5 year deals needs to be done before any new signing.

Guy is just class, he reads play like prime Ferdinand or Terry and as good as Mings has been in last 6 weeks (poor tonight) looks more of England calibre CB of the two.

He is bloody brilliant. He reminds me of Rio Ferdinand. We need to get him tied down to a new deal.

I don't see it. He reminds me more of a young John Legend.

There was a bit last night towards the end where he took the ball down, and did a sort of keep-uppy before turning on the spot and playing the ball. Reminded me of a certain defender from a while ago...

This guy is one of the most under rated players in the country for me, positioning is fucking superb. What is he? 22? Fucking hell, what a player we have.

A new contract must be a priority in the summer.  A quick way to eliminate any speculation about his future, not to mention deserved.

Agreed, and if Ezri gets an England call up this week (as rumoured) then his new contract needs signing before the Euros, before he’s in the shop window for the whole of Europe.

I know exactly what you are intimating at and I agree. There are some flashes in his play that bring back some memories.
