I think the tactic is very much buy the best players from challenger clubs because they’re great players and it weakens the challenger clubs.  Can’t see much controversy there. Losing our best players to clubs we are challenging isn’t much fun, so I can’t see much wrong in people being annoyed about it.

If this is true, I'm literally prepared to step in right now, and for only half of Konsa's current salary!

You are right and proof is just look at how shaky he was for England. I would not have the England Konsa in the Villa team.

I can’t see any definitive reports to say he’s Arsenal bound maybe he is, maybe he isn’t. What I do know is, is that Emery is responsible for his form of the last few year, he will also be aware of how much he knows that Konsa likes to dawdle on the ball and how he buys fouls that are barely fouls. In other words he could make him look a mug when we play against him if that becomes the case. Ideally he stays, if he goes, like Rogers before him, it will not be the end of the world.

I don’t want to lose him and also share the worries about destabilising the team by losing too many key players. But I also don’t think we will get another 6 years out of him as a previous poster remarked. His contract is up soon, and he’ll be able to negotiate a last bumper pay deal as a free transfer. The club would have some idea about likelihood of signing a new contract with us, and if it doesn’t seem like he will, I can understand selling him for a big offer.

In isolation Konsa going would be disappointing but you would hope that we would deal with it as we have with other recently departed players. However on top of losing three others I think it would leave us vulnerable and take us a little longer to recover.

We've done well to get 6 years out of Cash, Emi, Watkins and even more from Meatball and Mings. We must have the longest average tenure of players. Let those shallow turnover merchants Chelsea boom or bust. I'm cool with 4th place and a cup every 3 years.
