If only matty T attacked the ball like that in the opposition area...
Brighton home 19/20 season winning goal in last minute and Leicester H Carabao Cup SF. Think you'll find he's scored double the goals that Matty Cash has Footy.

I think Footy has a new pet hate now Joe has gone.
It has been going on a while - particularly now Wesley is out of the frame as well

Oh and everyone is allowed to badger Mings but Matt Targett isn't allowed critical eye. Come on now let's play fair.

I want them all to do well and I just have an eye on what can be improved
In case of all players be it JG , Wes or MT.
Anyhow let's all acknowledge Targett has improved from when he first came into club and did we know that he  made every match minute last season and has a higher standard to perform to

Perhaps the change of position and the fact he played all 38 league matches last season and hasn't much break and rest saw him immediately struggle v Watford then dropped when as said he was ever present.

I'm sure he'll come good  and for whatever reason as a full back attacker he's better than  a wing back attacker to my minds eye.

Up the Villa. And will have a 6 game watch of Targett and only comment on him positively if at all in the period.
My game is fair play.

Mings and Targett have both rightly been lambasted for some performance issues recently. Neither is as bad as some make out, though.

Are we back to the default of bashing the left back, whoever they are?
Targett's missed much of the pre-season, then been asked to play in a position that doesn't suit him. He was comfortably our best outfield player last season.

Matt Targett has been great for us. He's improving all the time. Whilst I know he missed that chance that perhaps he should have scored, he did well to even get in their box.

When you look at a number of tackles he's made, he's doing great.

Agreed. He's certainly doing much better than Ashley Young has this season.

Yep, Young looks like a less good Elmo to me, to be honest. He's OK as a reserve full back, but there's no way he should be starting games, and his crossing is wank.

I would add he was Players Player of the Season last season and rightly so in my opinion.

His game is based around defensive solidity.

For more first half shambles vs Arsenal
As I said and saw Targett has been liable and yet again it happens
I been disturbed how so many here didn't want to face the almighty truth that I pointed out about Targett struggles this season.

Like a few others he looks like he doesn't know what his job is. First half today he got caught repeatedly in no mans land where he was too deep to be an outlet on the left but too far forward to be defensively sound. Cash copes a little better but still looks uncomfortable and both Konsa and Mings look like they're not quite sure where they're supposed to be. The only defender who looked 'right' positionally was Tuanzebe but he's just not good enough to fuck over all the rest to accommodate.

His crossing is very poor. Hits the first man constantly.

That's not great for a wing back.
