I take a look at results and he is making the bench but hardly any game time. Think we will be writing this one off.
It does show that one horrendous tackle can be a career ender

Played half a match against Charleroi back in September.  Quarter of an hour against Leipzig a week later. Three minutes as a sub against St. Truiden in late October.

All going well.

Not looking good for Big Wes. I really hope that injury isn't all but a career ender. Whilst it wasn't great for him here prior, there was enough to suggest he could possibly turn it around and be a player. Similar to Libor I suppose. Although Libor seemed to finally get back on a run with Sparta Prague but it took him years to find his form and fitness again. I think Wes's days of being Brazils new no9 are long gone sadly.

He needs game time. It's not going to be with us and is seemingly not going to be with Brugge either.

We should try and get him on loan to a Championship side or just cut him loose as no one's going to pay anything for him as things stand.

A real shame. When he was bought, it seemed like a huge sum of money. If he eventually becomes a write off.. the way transfer fees are heading, it mightnít seem like such a big deal!

Which Ben Mee needs to be reminded of vociferously on December 18th.

From HLN - Belgian newspaper based in Antwerp

Wesley on his way to exit from Club: Brazilian striker in negotiations with Palmeiras

The return of Wesley (25) to Club Brugge will be a short one. The Brazilian is in talks with various clubs in his own country and seems to be leaving blue-black again during the winter break.

The most concretely interested Brazilian club is Palmeiras. The ten-time national champion wants to rent the striker for one year. Aston Villa has already received an offer from the top club, while Wesley is in full negotiation with Palmeiras. It is expected that Club Brugge, who borrow the striker from Villa this season, will not hinder Wesley.

The attacker got a start at Charleroi this season and had four  substitution appearance - even in the cup against Deinze he was not a starter. The Brazilian international wanted to relaunch his career in Bruges after a long knee injury, but Philippe Clement and co did not consider him fit enough. He was not part of the match squad in the last three games. Should a deal happen with Palmeiras, Wesley will almost certainly return to Brazil. With Flamengo, Sao Paulo and Internacional, three other clubs have already submitted an offer to Aston Villa to sign the attacker, on loan.

Somehow, I don't think we'll see him again in claret and blue.

Palmeiras and Flamengo *spits* were Copa Libertadores finalists so a fairly decent level for him to go to.

They'll have the state championships first before the proper league starts so a chance for him to play his way into contention.

Isnít their domestic league also slightly out of kilter with Europe so in a best case scenario would return to us fighting fit for the second half of next season?

I would see that scenario as miraculous rather than best case

I wish Wes all the best but with the best will in the world I doubt weíll ever see him play for the Villa again. Which saddens me.
