Just saw that, hopefully County can come back next season. Does that make Harrogate the poshest town with a football league club?

Quiz question. Apart from Cheltenham and now Harrogate which is the only other Spa town in England to have had league football ?

Hartlepool.

I dont think Hartlepool is now a spa town. I'm thinking elsewhere.

Sorry, I meant Grimsby.

I think you need to show more respect for those of us who live in proper royal spa towns, you dreadful Brummie.

Fuck off posho.

Would it be Bath, when Bristol Rovers played at Twerton Park for a few seasons?

Correct. The only Spa town where Villa have played a 1st team competitive game in the UK.

Leeds, Hartlepool and Wigan are all former Spa towns.

As any self respecting butler from Grimsby will know, the football ground is situated in Cleethorpes `Spa`.

One of my favourite football facts is that Grimsby play in Cleethorpes and Cleethorpes play in Grimsby

The River Trent in Nottingham represents the local authority boundary between Nottingham City council and Nottinghamshire County Council.

As a consequence Notts Countys Meadow Lane ground is in the City of Nottingham and the Nottingham Forest City ground is in the County of Nottingham.

I knew that about Wigan.  The water had a lot of sulphur in it from the coal seams.  The site of the spa was in a place called Scholes, which is just about the roughest area of Wigan, think the Chatsworth Estate from Shameless only not as nice.

I think Kitt Green/Marsh Green are rougher. I have had the pleasure of walking through them quite a bit a few years ago and the one day, on the same road, there were 3 blokes at separate houses, all being kicked out at the same time and embroiled in big barneys. It was either a glitch in the matrix, they'd all been shagging each others wife or I was hallucinating.

Scholes is rough, but its more dead beat than gangland. Lots of bag heads about. Its right on the cusp of the town centre and you have a couple of flats, some more smaller and shitter flats going up the hill, then a some houses at the start of an estate that are just grim.

But then it rolls into Whelly and the houses pick up and its nicer.

Platt Bridge is probably the biggest shit hole in Wigan.

There's a sign on the Halseowen Road near Leasowes that said Kitts Green (I think) 5 miles that a way (towards Woodgate) never ventured there but the name always seemed like a good one, as a nipper anyway.

I was always confused as to why they had two train stations right next to each other.

Kitts Green is nowhere near Halesowen. It's betwixt Yardley and Chelmsley, and as such outside the domain of decent folk.
