Manchester United's game against Everton on Sunday is the 4,000th consecutive match in which one of their academy players has been in the team/squad. The run started 30th October 1937.

I heard that somewhere on the radio or telly over the weekend and thought it was an incredible statistic. Although not incredible enough for me to remember the exact details when I went to post it on here!

269 teams in PL history have ended the season with fewer points than Liverpool have after 17 games.

Good on Ben etc, however the fellas own family has something to be desired in that tale.

Maybe a bit harsh to judge his family. I'd like to assume that nothing on this scale had happened before, and it represented a line everyone in his family hoped they'd never have to see crossed.

It's an impressive stat. Having said that, I wonder how far we could go back with Villa - when was the last time we had a team/squad that didn't feature an academy player?  It can't have happened too many times over the years.

Brighton deservedly leading at Palace after an hour.  Maupay has been excellent throughout, and scored.

Time to tick Brighton off the ever-decreasing list of teams who might finish below us. They have bossed Palace.

As good as Brighton have been, this has been a disgraceful performance from Palace. Worse than any Villa effort all season. I'd be beyond seething if we played like this, especially in a derby.

Dean Smith asked Suso just to be dishonest and pretend Wesley was Maupay.

Tell me lies
Sign me sweet little Maupay
Tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies
Oh, no, no you can't disguise
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies

Should have got Maupay in the summer. He's  quality and looks right at home in this league.
Quite jealous of Brighton too... play some nice stuff. Simple game when you watch how they pass and move. Always at least 2 options for the ball player 😔
