The analysis on RTE tends to be a bit more critical (Hamann and Souness are on a fair bit as well) and was even back in the halcyon days of the 90s for Irish football. There is another side to the coin. I understand a number of current Liverpool and Manure players in recent years have been unhappy with the criticism of them from former players of both clubs. Souness and Carragher don't pull any punches when it comes to criticising Liverpool and it is the same with former Manure players like Roy Keane, Gary Neville and Paul Scholes.
