Theme From An Unmade Silent Movie

How absolutely brilliant was it for this to be playing briefly before they lifted the trophy?!  My spine was tingling.

Possibly in a minority of one here, but I can't stand it.  I don't really remember it being played at the ground, so don't have that emotional connection to it, and as a piece of music it's just shit.  Sorry.

That music takes me back to being a  kid and running home from school to listen to George Gavin on a crackly line from Simferopol on a Wednesday afternoon or a tense, balmy evening praying for a result in Brussells.  It's special to me.

It's been played at most home matches in my 40+ years of going.

I like it. It's not exactly one that you'll get 40,000 singing along to, but it feels right. I associate it with watching Villa in my youth when I would be counting down the seconds to my next Villa game. I'd be happy if they played it before every match, before switching to Children Of The Grave as the players entered the pitch.

Have to admit, it caught me by surprise (being played at the point we went to lift the trophy).  It brought a tear or two to my eye.  I find the tune emotional in normal circumstances but to have it played out of the blue just as we'd won one of, if not the most important matches in our history.  For me, it is THE Villa signature tune.

You are not. I understand why it is part of Villa lore but it does nothing for me.

I play it regularly and miss it being played at Villa Park. It was the expectancy of the players coming out when it was played and everyone stood up looking towards the tunnel. It brings back lots of memories for me and I was shocked when it was played at Wembley. Absolutely capped off a brilliant day for me

You've no soul, man. Nearly bought a tear to me eye when they played it as we went up to lift the trophy on Monday!

It takes me back to the happy days of Ron Saunders 1970's time when we were envied and much loved by fans and local media alike.
A very special piece of music to me
