Fair point, I just think that we are better with them all in the side.  Dean Smith knows what he's doing and I hope we are too strong for the play off sides now.  Be great to get Hause back in at left back too with Axel and the Emporer in the middle.

To be honest, everything from now on in is more than I thought we deserved in Feb/March. We now deserve a big house in the fucking country. We're unstoppable unless some prick stops us.

Precisely.

The other concern for next week is that we'll likely have to play Leeds in the final. That being so, and with Leeds' and Bielsa's reputations, you can well imagine them trying to..

a/ injure Grealish
b/ get McGinn injured/booked/sent off
c/ cripple a striker, be that Abraham and/or Kodjia
d/ wind up Mings
e/ this wasn't multiple choice so it doesn't need an 'all of the above'

Still, just fucking do the bastards. I can't stand them. And my in-laws and 50% of my colleagues will love me and I'll also be able to wind them up by saying the Villa got them promoted.

Anwar El Ghazi, as a point of order.

He's been really good too, agreed. Proving to be a top player.

Easy to forget he’s only a few months older than Jack. He’s been instrumental in our rise.

Really tough calls coming up for Deano in the next few matches. Rest a few players like Grealish, McGinn and Tammy, to reduce injury and suspensions chances, and risk losing momentum. Or, play the strongest side and risk injuries suspensions?

Not sure i’d Want to risk our best players against Leeds. But one thing I do know, is I trust Smith to get it right and get us promoted. Really nervous about Albion over two legs in semi, and potentially Leeds in the final.

We are head and shoulders the form team right now,
So really shouldn’t be fearing either of them.

I see parallels with Game of Thrones as each of the remaining games episodes comes and goes I'm over stimulated, excited but frightened, over thinking shizzle, all the while knowing that there are more twists and turns and that there is a very high probability there will not be a happy ending (but hooked in the hope that good will triumph over evil). Leeds remind me of the White Walkers (dangerous trixy bastards) for that reason I'd let everyone who has been knocking on DS door the chance to play and save our main players for the play off and season finale/climax.

Great read again Dave. It's an interesting situation now, keep on trying to keep the winning run continuing, or rest some players. I'm sure whatever Dean Smith does it will be the right decision.

Beautiful. I've always loved this club. It's fucking brilliant to be able to love the team as well.

That one's going in  my bumper book of quotes.

And you're most welcome to it.

It's a good redirection of the age-old parent to teenage child "I'll always love you but right now I really don't like you" after the latter has had a house party and wrecked the gaff to go with the five years of sloth and sulkiness. Who'd be a Villan/Mama?

Huddersfield also lost at Small Heath the year before, then went on to win the play offs.

And funny to think he didn't even make the bench in Smith's first game in charge.

I'm glad we didn't make a big thing out of breaking the consecutive wins record, that stuff is liable to bite you in the behind. I remember Gregory calling his merry team of all-English men into a photo call on the pitch at The Dell after we had started 1998/99 12 games unbeaten.
