This may be a stupid question or it may have been addressed already, but can anyone tell me why the Championship Final is on a Monday afternoon this year? 27th.

Am assuming there's something else on at Wembley on the Saturday, but it ain't the FA Cup final as that's the 18th.

I thought it was usually on bank holiday Monday, and last year’s Saturday fixture was the exception?

Oh that's where things are getting confused then - May 27th isn't a bank holiday in Ireland :(

Our May day is the first Monday of May every year, so, May 6th this year.

I was wondering why it was scheduled for a random Monday!

Correct. I think the Championship final sometimes gets moved to the Saturday in a tournament year to allow extra preparation time for the World Cup or Euros.

It's on what used to be the Whitsun Bank Holiday, which has become a fixed date instead in the calendar now, last Monday in May. Kids' half-term week too, generally.

That's it, Saturday is L2, Sunday L1, Champ on BH Monday.

Do the bookings get wiped for the play offs or does McGinn's yellow card tight rope continue until the end of the season?

McGinn's tightrope is only up to the Norwich game.  He is on 13 and, if he gets 15, he'll get a 3 game ban which will include the play offs.  The slate is clean come the first leg of the play offs.

Yes championship has already traditionally been the final game of the three play off finals but in tournament years it gets switched with the league two final as think cut off date with Fifa is the Saturday for international players.

If last year we'd play on the Monday then AEM would've been unavailable I think.

So he's prime candidate to be rested then.

I would use the squad for the next two games not wholesale changes maybe rest Jack and use John McGinn sparingly because we don't want a situation were our best player's will be missing injured or through suspension for the play offs.

Yes, rest them for Leeds, and give them a runout for Norwich at Villa. Seems to make sense, but I have diddly squat actual say on it  :D

Not really. If he gets a booking in the next two games though he should be brought straight off and rested until the playoffs.

I'd rest one of them.  There is a benefit to finishing fourth and we should push for it.

If Jack or McGinn (or anyone else for that matter) has a slight knock, by all means rest them.

But they'll get all the rest they need in just over a month's time.

I'd rest Jack for Leeds and SJM against Norwich if he doesn't get booked against Leeds

I see that both semis are on the same day (Sat 11th May), but the 'A' game is the early kick-off, and 'B' game is the late.

However, do we know which is the 'A' & which is the 'B'?
I would assume 3rd v 6th is the 'A' & 4th v 5th is the 'B', but does anyone have the definitive answer?

Apologies if someone's already said elsewhere

It’s not been confirmed yet.
