All i fear now is a stroke of bad luck. I think that's the only thing that could stop us.

I’ve already warned my boy that it will probably be a second team at Norwich. No injuries and no yellow/reds will be all that matters by then.
You mean worse than being simultaneously without 4 centre-halves, Grealish and Kodjia, that bad?

Yesterday, we became an unstoppable force. There is now only one outcome.

Ha well a mass brawl on in the Norwich game and Grealish, Mings and McGinn all seeing straight reds would probably top that....

That's it. We are in play off either in 6th place or more likey 5th and to play West Brom. Time to light the barbeque.

I think we drew 3-3 with Norwich back in time on the last day some time.

We drew 3-3 in the last home game of 89/90, then played Everton away.

It’s all so annoying now that Jack got injured and the wheels fell off in Jan/Feb as the top 3 are nothing special. Only Norwich have lost less games than us, so even though we had a terrible couple of months it’s the draws that have killed us

Been a mad old season. If we win on Monday half our wins will have come in the last 10. Of course there's the coulda/shoulda regrets when you see the teams in automatic stumbling but what's done is done and let's enjoy the lads making history now.

3 points on Monday and certain to be in play offs.
Then 19 days and 2 games before the drama begins.

Hopefully not premature.

Yes 10 more points and we'd be favourites for second. If we're still down in the championship next year then one truth for automatic promotion is you can't afford two bad runs in a season.

Two seasons running now we've had a very slow start up to October which allows 4-5 strong teams to get ahead and then we've also had poor results over xmas.

We could've just brushed off the mediocre SB start to the season if we'd had even a decent run in January and February.

2nd place will certainly not need this two points a game average a few on here keep banging on about anyway.

See, I'm just grateful that when we endured our shit run we were picking up a point more often than not. The playoffs seemed impossible then but those points count just as much as the others.

I've posted it before but it shows how frustrating those runs were as our 2 bad runs covered 27 games and we won 4 of them (2 wins in 13 and 2 wins in 14).

People talk about 2 points per game as that is always the target as every side that has hit 90 points has gone up automatically.

It becomes a tough ask if you have a slow start like we annually seem to do. If you win your first 5-6 games like Wolves and Newcastle have done in previous years then much easier.

Think 2nd won't even need 90 points as I can see Leeds dropping points to us and Brentford and Sheffield United maybe drawing with Hull.

It often doesn't, i'm sure when I looked up various points totals last season someone went up in second a few years ago with something daft like 79 points. But no one has ever hit 90 and not gone up which is why it's the target.

Quoting myself like an absolute hero, but I should add that I was talking about the shit run under Smith. The one under Bruce can, like its author, get to fucking fuck.

All ifs and buts, but this current squad and DS in charge all season and we'd have been promoted already. And PH can get to fucking fuck, but ultimately, if he'd picked up a few more wins during that run he'd probably still be here. So thank fuck he was shit and so we now appear to be a club that isn't 20 years out of date.
