When he does make subs, they appear to be the correct ones. Just hope it’s not too late.

Losing faith with Smith.... All very well blaming the squad he's inherited, but Kodjia/Carroll not starting ahead of Whelan and co is bewildering (and not bringing em on till the 73rd minute in a dysfunctioning side?!).

Sort it out Villa FFS!

We just need to sneak/get through this and get Grealish back. Come on you Villa Boys!!

While I admire your positive slant on things, at present we have no idea when JG will be back and when he does return, how many games will it take for him to get up to speed. 16 and counting to the end of yet another season in this crap league.
Last I heard Grealish is due back on the 8th Feb and sticking with the blind optimism 16 x 3 = 48 ;-)

He’s not even back in full training yet is he?
Date may have been pushed back but going off of DS previous interviews I don't think he's far off and DS has been trying to dampen Jack's impatience/enthusiasm to get back. Saying that I missed DS press conference for this match so don't know if anything was mentioned then?

Clean sheet at least? Maybe we’re just trying to keep it tight and waiting for a moment of individual brilliance (cc. S. Bruce)

3 fouls by Reading in the last 3 mins - sounds like a bruiser
