I saw Doug play for us. I win.

Did he score the winner with a bicycle kick?

I guarantee no one on here has seen Andrew Greaves circa 1980 - 82 play

File Andrew Greaves with Berson. Both myths. Legends even.

I saw Berson away at Man U.  He did alright, in a neat and tidy but ultimately unproductive kind of way.

I have an Andrew Greaves matchworn shirt. It’s kept in a vault.

Did he score the winner with a bicycle kick?

He jogged around the pitch and surprisingly wasn't tackled.

I have a vague memory of this.  Remind me when it was and what it was all about.

In view of the brevity of his Villa career it is quite fitting that this thread barely mentions Tom Carroll,

Was Doug carrying two collection buckets by any chance?

It was a Sunday morning, the day after the Bradford fire. There was some sort of game between Villa staff and another team; I don't know who they were and what the occasion was. All I remember is Doug stepping from out of the dugout, taking about ten minutes to warm up and trotting onto the pitch.
