He’s too good for the Championship.

how you know he's half decent he stays on his feet doesnt dive in.  His only poor game last season as away against Sterling and Man City.

On his way to Cardiff if reports are correct.
Noooo. Far too good for Cardiff.
On loan though

Probably a decent move all round. Don't think there is much between him and Elmo really, but Elmo does seem to be ahead of him in the pecking order at the moment.

Elmo remains as back up to Cash for the rest of the season, while Guilbert goes out on loan.  Elmo leaves at the end of the season and if Guilbert has done well he comes back, if it's not going to happen with him then at least he will have played some football and been in the shop window.

he was shocking at Southampton, one of the worst performances by a Villa player I have witnessed.

The entire team collectively stunk St Mary’s out last season.

Good luck to Freddie but I think that's the last we've seen of him in a Villa shirt. Elmo remains as decent back up for Matty Cash and will go in the summer to make room for an upgrade. Both have been good servants to the club and will go with my best wishes.

If we loaned out everybody who was abysmal in that Leicester away game, then we'd also be saying 'tara a bit' to Grealish, Mings, Luiz  and Targett. The wost culprit in Reina isn't here any more, but nobody came out of that game with any credit.

Just turned 26, bought for £4.5m, is far from shit. I doubt he'll be short of not-too-shabby admirers should he become available, and we should turn a tidy profit.

I'm quite liking that nowadays I'll miss players when they're gone, rather than being glad to see the backs of assorted charlatans, wastrels and those terminally misfiring.

Very surprised only the likes of Cardiff are looking at him. Had lots of very good games for us too, including against Arsenal at the end of last season. I'm not sure Cash is all that better defensively but Smith seems certain Guilbert isn't in his plans.
