Shame, seemed a decent character, if a little naive as a footballer.
I think that is a problem when you state your profession as Footballer.

Heís still contracted for another year or two isnít he? A loan to get him some game time before selling him on in the summer makes sense I guess, he clearly isnít in Deanís plans.

We might even find ourselves selling him for more than we paid for him, imagine that witchcraft. Extraordinary.

I wouldn't assume that it's only a loan and that he'll take Elmo's place as back-up to Cash next season. The financial situation with Covid means Championship will only be dealing with loan deals in this window. Guilbert's positioning isn't good enough but if he can improve on that, he'll be a good full-back for someone.

Kaine Kessler looks the real deal so won't be shocked to see both Elmo and Guilbert, certainly the latter gone in the summer permanently.

I like Guilbert, and though I may of course be wrong, I have a feeling that (not for the first time) we may be looking back in two or three years time and asking ourselves 'why did we let this fella go?'

Same here.  I thought the same about Jordan Amavi and he's done well for himself since he left us.

Gone on loan with a view to competing for a first team spot next season.

Possibly, might be a year too soon for Kaine-Kesler. He might be the one going out on a loan next season.

Ok tin hat time,Iíve always liked Freddie I think Matty Cash is as good but not that much of an upgrade.  Therefore I wouldnít have replaced in the team.

It's not a controversial opinion, tony. Plenty of people felt right back was a position where we were sorted, if not long term then at least for the immediate future. Me amongst them. Although I'll disagree with you on how much of an upgrade Cash is, I think it's quite a lot. A tremendous find by our scouts and analytics people to spot a bloke that's had only one season in that position, and that in a lower division.

Freddy's a good player, but I don't think he'll oust Cash again. It's a short career, he deserves to play somewhere. Good luck to him, wherever he goes.

Good luck Freddie. I'm not sure why he fell out of favour, but I think he genuinely liked playing for Villa. Loved that fist pump vs Arsenal end of last season. That and his uncompromising way of playing showed he wanted Villa to succeed.

Good luck Freddie hope the move works out.

He seems to have improved whilst out of the team.
Offers little going forward & was constantly caught out of position defensively.

Not good enough for where we are or where we're going.
