A mate who runs the TMA said that he was taken off in the Bournemouth game because of a fitness issue, not tactical.

I hope he is back in the side this evening. UTV

No great shock, he's in the same situation as Bouba where he had no pre-season so he just hasn't got the underlying fitness you need to play regularly for 90mins at this standard. Next season he'll be in a much better place and we'll see a lot more of him I think.

Isn't that Konsa's normal move? He does it about 10 times a match.

Not so much when Mings is around I've noticed. He wasn't shy about letting Torres know he was at fault for not picking up Evanilson for that header later in the game.

I'm not buying the Mings fitness issue. He hardly played in recent weeks and it wasn't as if he was overly stretched by Bournemouth's attacking play, his arm aside, up to then. Our defence was rock solid until his replacement.

Emery can make brave/crazy selection decisions at times. McGinn was taken off early v PSG and Fulham despite being the best player on the pitch both times. Metrics from the sports bras were blamed at the time for the sub until McGinn set the record straight after the game.

We were struggling to get turned on the ball in midfield at the time and I suspect he felt Torres would help with that. But given how tight the game was and importance of the game to our season, it really was a reckless change.

Most of the fan base would be happier with Mings starting tonight but Torres it likely will be.

Super John McGinn said something about wearing the sports bra and getting too close to the red zone. I wonder if that’s what happened to Tyrone Mings and they are therefore obliged to take him off.

Yeah what do the people that work with him all week and have up to the second data of his on pitch fitness during a match know. Even Ty is in on the lie by saying he's still coming back to full fitness. Bronte is wise to their scam.

With all due respect, this is some of the maddest shit. Konsa hates Torres, Emery's working the fans like an old carnie, and everyone from Mings to Tanswell is in on it.

So you think everyone whose job it is to monitor a player's fitness all made the same mistake at the exact same moment?
