I was saying on The International Player watch Mings should be in the England squad but Newcastle Big Dan Burn has been given opportunity ahead of him.
For why? Would we rather have him at Villa than Mings ?
I ‘m firmly in the camp of not wanting Mings playing more games than he should and want him to concentrate on playing for us. The England set up never really treated him that well anyway, even though he never put a foot wrong when called upon, so they can f***ing do one as far as I’m concerned. In fact I’m not a fan of Villa players playing for England full stop….it always seems to have a negative effect on us one way or the other.
Double post , sorry.

Sure. Fair enough.
We don’t just have english players though do we? Our Captain is scottish and they have nations league 2 leg play off

I think a lot of players enjoy international duty.

And what of our other international players who don’t play for England ?
Martinez and Bailey for example have to leave europe to play their matches
Under 21 players for their experience ? Bogarde , Maatsen and Garcia ?
Digne has the biggest matches 2 legs quarter final in nations league.

I got to #1 and had learned all I needed to know about the person who compiled it.

Jesus is pretty cool. Shame it didn't imprint on his followers, but the dude himself is fine with me.

I'm more perturbed by the likes of Michael 'paedo' Jackson, Will 'I'm gonna slap you' Smith and Tony 'I'm good at rolling' Hawk.

Nah Tony Hawk is great purely for all the stories/tweets of people having no idea who he is.

Tony Hawks the writer (who also wrote Stutter Rap) gets mistaken with Tony Hawk. His Round Ireland with a Fridge book is genius by the way.

Corruption of Mings thread going on now the deviation and move away from debating over Mings shows the need for clear rules and guidelines that could come into place regards specific topic talk -if we had an open thread and polls on such matters like a community meeting we can see what everyone wants

Now on topic the debate which regards Burn or Mings is a very good one so let’s be brought to attention .

Would anyone care to say that Mings is better than Burn.
surely he is.

other non villa supporters have been saying that Burn deserves it and when I mention Mings they say he has mistakes in him , one even said he was slow!
Burn is ill disciplined more so than Mings probably and not much of a football I argue especially compared to Ty.

Haha, he should have. It's a great book though. He does it for a bet (with comedian Arthur Smith) which is for £100. The fridge cost him £120. It's pointless but very funny.

The follow up of tennis against Moldovan footballers is quite good as well. I can’t remember if his Pyrenees book and adventure was also the result of a very drunken bet as well.

And the one that follows Moldova where he tries to get a new song to number one in the charts somewhere in the world is good too

IMO if those are the best options as centre back squad players for England then we're never going to be world beaters

It's the biggest weakness of the England side. Over the last 5-6 years, we've had some incredibly talented players emerge and make their way into the England squad, but there hasn't been a truly exceptional centre-back, never mind a pair.  I think Colwill has potential to be genuinely top class, but beyond that, who is there?

I think in the midfield and forwards, England can be a match for any team on the planet.  But defensively, they're a mid-table side (internationally speaking).

How about no, if you want a site like that try villatalk, people like this site because it allows conversation to flow naturally wherever it happens, it's been like it for years and if you have a problem with it then that's your problem not something for you to make demands over.

His specialist subject on Celebrity Mastermind was Tony Hawk.

I don't think Piano In The Pyrenees was the result of a bet but One Hit Wonderland was.

Defending is secondary these days. It's what's opened the door for Forest. They have gone extremely solid at the back, strong in midfield with a big number 9 and pace out wide. No one knows how to play against it anymore. Arsenal are doing it too, to a lesser extent. Their defense and centre midfield is world class as a collective. Their attack is shit and not winning anything though.

Throw John Terry, Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Cole into that England side and it wins everything.

Edit: Obviously the main man Tyrone is exempt from all this. He should've been first choice for England for about five years now.

I can see Mings getting the armband back next season. Not that McGinn has done much wrong at all but it's just the natural order.
