And it looked me as though he got the card for telling the referee to get a grip before an England player (probably Lingard) got seriously injured.  Somebody had to take responsibility  and have a word. Tyrone is that sort of a person.

At least he won't get injured playing for England now he's got a one match ban.

True, he’ll probably get injured walking his dog.

Bit late on it but watched his interview upon becoming Captain. Comes over so well and uses words that the previous incumbent could only dream about. Got my vote if he wants to become Prime minister in 10 years time.

And that is why anti-football  Southgate replaced Mings for a unfit slabhead at the Euros. However well he's playing, his lack of concentration will gift the opposition a goal sooner or later.

If he plays like that, loads. I can take getting beat if a world class player like Lukaku does something brilliant, but Mings under no real pressure just handed them the easiest chance they will ever get.

He is rather prone to dropping the odd clanger.

Not for England though, does seem to have a mistake up his sleeve for us though.

Which is why im surprised that Konsa has not had a call up, only reason why Tyrone has I suspect is because he is left footed.

Needs to cut these mistakes out though as they cost us points every season

90% of England matches though are gimmes against vastly inferior opposition.

Mings should start concentrating on his day job and stop proselytizing at every available opportunity.

At a rate of about one a match, unfortunately.

Yeah, two totally unrelated things. I suspect that linking them may be more to do with people’s own personal politics than anything rational. I think he’s a legend for the way he conducts himself off the pitch, but I still have question marks over him as a player if we want to challenge for top 6 / top 4.

In terms of Mings the player, I think it’s pretty obvious to most of us what the deal is: a great presence, good pace, good in the air, pretty good distribution, but prone to lapses in concentration which can be costly. It would be great if we had all the positives without the mistakes, but then he’d be a £60m+ defender not a £25m one.

Champions league teams tend to buy £60m+ defenders.
