Yep.

You’d lose your mind if we had Maguire. His penchant for colossal fuck ups makes Mings look like Beckenbauer.

Maguire has pretty solid for a while now.
He is a decent centre half and one of the reasons Yanited are where they are, that and Refs obviously.

Leicester fans laughed their bollocks off selling Maguire for what they did. I don’t recall Mings making a fraction of the errors Maguire has made. Yes Mings makes errors, and you can certainly make the case he was partly at fault for the Martial goal. But for me he’s better than Maguire and certainly relative to what each is meant to be valued at.

We should have had a penalty the other night because Maguire jumped in the air with his arms above his head for some reason. Just before Bailly blocked Davis' shot.

Maguire is horribly average. Only United would pay  80m for a centre back and then realise that you have to play two holding midfielders in front of him as he can't turn. He's usually decent in the air but was beaten against us by Watkins twice, Davis at least once and he got bailed out by Bailly at the end too.

There aren't many top centre backs around Europe these days really compared to ten years ago. Likes of Carragher and Ledley King only backup centre backs for England when Terry and Ferdinand were in their pomp. They would walk into the team these days.

Think Tyrone needs a mention for last night to be fair. People seem very quick to criticise but credit where it is due I thought he was back to his best last night. Much more dominate in the air.

Part of a fine defensive unit so far this season and at this moment in time I wouldn't swap him or anyone else in that unit.
How long is it since we've had a defensive set up so consistently good?

Exactly, the stick he has had has been a bit OTT, he is our on field captain without a shadow of doubt, Dean has also said that he wants his defenders to play out and retain the ball....inevitable that occasionally possession will be lost.

Just saw on Twitter that it’s 2 years today that he signed on loan....he was less than a bit part Prem Lg player 2 years ago, now he is an England player & a proper leader....will more than do for me!

The only thing I remember him doing wrong last night was a very weak back pass which we got away with as Ings was offside. That's the kind of thing that let's him down now and again.

It's hard to find defenders as good defensively as he is. We have the second most clean sheets in the league and he plays a big part in that. Yes, there are too many mistakes, but he would be very difficult to upgrade, and tbh I love the bloke, so whoever it is would need to be quite a bit better for me to want to see the back of Mings.

O love Tyrone Mings, yes he has the odd mistake but the guy is still learning too.  I don't like the zonal marking at corners malarkey though.

My MOTM last night, yes he drops the odd bollock but people forget he is the vocal captain on the pitch

Thought he played well last night. He seems to like games where we're under the cosh a bit.

Ings was in an offside position, but, surely, he wouldn’t have been classed as offside as it was a back pass?
I remember the back pass, and I agree, it certainly looked slightly under hit, but probably looked worse than it was because Emi seemed to wait. It put a lump in my throat, but Emi was in control
