Targett and McGinn are both one booking away from suspension. Ideally they would keep their noses clean until Old Trafford, then both get booked to miss the Liverpool cup game as we will likely rest players for that anyway.

They're competition-specific.

Ah, okay. That must have changed recently. Sure that never used to be the case as remember Villa players getting booked to avoid being suspended for the League Cup Final.

In that case, get them booked against Palace. Probably isn't a bad idea to rotate players given how many games are being played in a short space of time anyway. Have them both back fully fit for Man U.

Does Tyrone miss just the one game even though the second yellow made it 5?

I think he's starting to mature as a central defender now. I think the more experience he gets, the more solid and consistent he's going to become.
This aged well. ;-)

That said, today's experience should help him become more solid and consistent.

Injuries aside, can't see him getting back in the team for a while.

I genuinly think he was done by Zaha, that first was never a yellow.

I didn’t see the ref show the second yellow, so I thought it was a straight red as last man in defence

Nope, they showed the second yellow clearly at half time on the BBC.

But surely after the first yellow you need to adapt your game accordingly. Mings took an unnecessary chance on the ball and got punished, again. Deserves dropping for definite.

He was deservedly sent off today, and was awful right from the start, when he let in Zaha.  In fact, his whole demeanour looked peculiar today, such that I was wondering if he was playing under the strain of a problem of some sort (health, fitness?).

Zaha did to him what Grealish does to so many defenders, winning free-kicks and unsettling them. He was beyond naivie today and may not get his place back because of it.
