Another defeat looming for the Bears. As bad a start to the season as there could be. Hopefully in June the likes of Bell, Stone, Hain, Sidebottom, Thomason and Norwell returning will see an upturn in form.

69/6. Hose and Miles aren't impressing at all. The Management need to look into their recruitment policy.

Fucking dreadful.

Withdraw from the league and try to win the Minor Counties.

They seem to have adopted the Steve Bruce mentality with player recruitment. You know, leave yourself short in key areas!
No adequate batting replacement for Trott. Letting Barker go was fucking stupid - he's not that old at 32! Miles as a replacement?

Bring Back Barker.

And Asif Din, while we are at it. He might be about sixty but he can't do much worse.

What hurts more is that he was our only genuine swing bowler, which you need at Edgbaston where the pitches offer very little movement off the seam. Chris Wright, and Chris Woakes before he increased his pace had some proficiency in this technique, but now, nothing.

Injured players returning will not address this problem. A long season in prospect.

Olly Stone is playing for the seconds today, he won't bowl though. Good to see him on the road to recovery, I think we will need him soon!

Somerset's highest run scorer was some bloke called extras with a score of 47.

Batsmen failing again. Seems poor discipline as well - Rhodes run out?? Why risk running the extra in a 4 day match ? Hose failed again, our bowling: 47 extras? including 22 no balls? OHD did very well but I'll be surprised if we get 200.
