Agreed, but I think they need to do a fair bit more groundwork first. Him appearing to comfortably last through the T20 World Cup was a massive boost, but they’ve got to up his workload slowly.

Getting Joffra fit to bowl in Test matches would be a massive boost.

It would indeed be lovely, but just can't see it unfortunately.

To prevent future injuries, I reckon they just need to get him to take that gargantuan gold chain off. The extra weight must be considerable.

It looks pretty heavy, doesn't it?

You would associate wearing that with neck injuries rather than elbow problems.

Two fantastic days at Edgbaston with nearly 700 runs and 22 wickets. The beer is very expensive though!

Should be all over for tea so they won’t be late for their shift at Longbridge.

Very sad to hear about the passing of Graham Thorpe.  Was one of my favourite players growing up - technically sound, gritty when he needed to be and scored runs against all of the top test sides of the era including the great Australian sides.

Thorpe was one of the few players that skipper Atherton knew he could rely on to perform regularly at Test level.

He had a very simple, disciplined approach-he only played about three shots -but he knew his game, stuck to it and scored a stack of runs.

Think it was Nasser Hussain said he was exactly the kind of player you'd want going out there when you were 20-3 .

Yep, one of those cricketers it was impossible not to admire and respect. RIP.
