The other thing with back up players is that they have to be able to come in and perform, not requiring a few games to get up to speed each time, which the big man has done really well.

I just want Hause to prove his right foot isn't for shuffling on. You're a grown footballer ffs. Gerrard said in his presser today that each player has an individual "plan". Hopefully getting Kourtney learning ground football is part of his. After that, I'm happy if he's on his £37k basic a week.

What is wrong with Kortney? Is it still the abdominal discomfort? - he flew to America for treatment I think ahead of the Wolves game in a bid to be available for that match at the beginning of April. SG said he was "unavailable" for Leicester last Saturday. This could be crucial as Tyrone is walking a tightrope on 9 yellow cards; one more and he's banned for two matches. Although he gets criticised I thought he played superbly at Leicester, blocking and heading so many crosses/shots. I hope Hause is fit soon in case this happens, particularly as he's a left-footed CB.

Mings is okay, the 10-card cut-off was after 32 games.

That's good news, however we need Hause fit ASAP for what could be tricky run in.

Yeah where's the update from the club? Bloody shit this, we should have the information to hand and kept in the loop.

Hause signed a new deal within weeks of Gerrard taking over. We then released Tuanzebe, signed Chambers and Kortney hasn't been seen.

It's really hard to keep four centre backs happy in a squad that plays an average of 4 games a month. If rumours are true and West Ham are interested, he might be someone we can make money on and then promote one of the kids as fourth choice CB.

Or Mings gets sold and Hause remains understudy to the new guy.

Didn't realise Korts was actually injured, just assumed he was being left out as Chambers is the back up CB and Young covers LB on the bench.

I get the feeling he might want to go end of the season so the new contract was just to get a bigger fee in the summer, he'd be great for Fulham and Bournemouth coming back up so we should have interest.

Kortney Hause to miss Aston Villa pre-season following knee surgery
He'll miss between four to six weeks.
That makes it tough for him to be up to speed fitness wise and a set back.
Best of luck to him as respect his role and solid squad member.

Is he worth keeping? He's always either injured or on the bench. With Carlos' arrival, he's even further down the queue behind Chambers too.

There's probably not going to be a big rush for his services while he's injured, and then the transfer window will be shut.

I think this year they’ll go for someone special.
