I know he’s lacking match time but DS says he performed well behind closed doors friendlies . But please don’t change him to CB, Mings has been superb

I hope what we saw last night was down to lack of game time and him working his way back to fitness because he was laughably bad in that first half. Not quite as bad in the second half but still pretty poor.

It's the Villa way Daz.  Why have one player playing well in a position that suits him when you can have two out of position playing badly.  Tuanzebe had to do his porridge as a Villa full back before he was allowed to become our best centre back.

He also looked nervous and they seemed to pick up on that and harried him at every opportunity.

What a load of shit, somehow we've ended up with someone elses unfit center back as our left back.

Who the fuck is scouting these players and where are their ideas coming from?

That's what fucks me off about it. All these discussions they had a few months prior to January identifying targets and ended up signing 2 pretty much identical left sided centre backs. I actually think Mings looks a good player and based on what I've seen before with Hause I think he could be too, but it I'm not sure what kind of cretinous insight / scouting decided that Hause could be a left back.

It's hard to know who has the final say on transfers, but if it's the Sporting Director dude, he probably needs to be presented with his P45 before the summer transfer window opens.  Moreira, Nyland, El Ghazi, Bolasie, Hause, Carroll.  Other than McGinn and possibly Mings, not a body of work to be hugely proud of.

Haven't people notice how unbalanced he is.
Not the most grateful of defenders .
Mings is a big lump too but has some abilities.

The scouting all a bit basic.

Looks like they scouting with requirements in a search engine
And they had a physical attributes remit.

-Tall gk over 6'5
-Simply stero type big strong defenders
-Ball playing small midfielder

I would have preferred Jagielka/ Cahill/ Mepham as defenders and Fer/ McDonald for DM.
And Ashley Cole for left back .

Some as short term options
Just to tide us over .

Experience , quality and know how

I know he’s lacking match time but DS says he performed well behind closed doors friendlies . But please don’t change him to CB, Mings has been superb

I would look at playing a back three when Chester and Tuanzebe return.  I would have Chester on the right, Tuanzebe in the middle and Mings on the left.  Either that, or play Tuanzebe in midfield, play Hause on the left of the three and Mings in the middle.

I thought Hause struggled badly at left-back last night.

What about Elphick!
Can you just disregard him like that.

One has to applause his professional manner as if he gets dropped from a back 3 then that really is unfair to him and he's shown a great attitude despite him basically been in and out.

Like Hutton in past. He has at least tried despite his limitations.

Hause should be a bench warmer in a 3-4--1-1
If all fit.

He's very adept at banging his head against a goal post, I grant you, it's when he starts to play that raises serious doubts as to his competency

Surely time for the Hause to be repossessed
