Tremendous today. Really shaping up to be a proper player.
Wow, we could have half the England team at this rate ....

He's been fantastic since getting back into the team through Ezris' injury, dominant in the air looks a threat at set pieces and is reading the game well. May take some shifting if Ezri and Kortney perform well in the next game.

Big couple of games coming up for Kortney. I would say if he plays well against Chelsea, and Konsa likewise keeps his excellent form up this season, Mings has his work cut out getting back in. Which as far as competition, is good. I would hope too, it just gives Tyrone a little nudge to improve his focus and occasional brain farts he still has. Though Tyrone it should be said, has improved this season along with most of the side. He is the big name at the back though, so he has the biggest expectation.

I don't think Mings has improved much, 80% of the time he's a really good defender, but he has very regular lapses in concentration, it's practically every game.

Risso, fully agree, Tyrone has so much goodwill built up, and he is a top player and  bloke, but he needs to sort his aberrations out. Which seems to be about one a match. Matt Targett has sorted himself, he needs to. But I still think he is a world class defender who sometimes gets a bit bored!

Yes, I think Mings is invaluable for his leadership, but otherwise he’s not the best central defender at the club. In fact the jury’s probably out on whether he’s one of the best two.

Not that it should matter but Ty's penchant for chewing gum open-mouyhed and his perma look of nonchalance makes it all the more galling when he drops his gamely clanger.

3 clean sheets and a goal from his 3 games this season.
Not bad for a backup

Doing well at the back, and always looks a handful in the opposition's box aswell

He is excellent in the air, always has been. Good character too. Solid.

I expect Tammy will test him a hell of a lot more next day out, mind.

Another good game.  Passing isn't the strongest point of his game, but concentration and keeping it tight at the back certainly are.

Ha! As I just said on the Match thread, for all his poor distribution he more than made up for it with his heading. Chelsea put a lot of crosses into the box and 9 times out of ten he was on the end of it. Great defending.
