I imagine Targett was more of a Smith signing than Pitarch.

If so, best not let Dean take control of  the Piggy Bank again. I rate Hause, thought he looked very secure at left back last season and would move him there again as soon as Mings is back.

This, all day long.  He's big, quick, decent passing and movement, good in the air and would give us another option in the box at corners.  Far better player than either Targett or Taylor.  He was excellent yesterday, easily our best defender.

Thought he did well yesterday teamed up well with Konsa esoecially with that combined effort to snub out Pukki.

I'm beginning to doubt Pitarch.

Beginning? Our best signings were sod all to do with him. His "recommendations" are pretty poor at this level. Deano deserves better than this guy swanning around getting paid an absolute fortune, stymieing him with the likes of Wes, Nakamba and Trezeguet.

Too early to judge for me. The signings brought in the year we went down took a while to adapt but have gone on to have decent careers.

Ayew, Traore, Veretout and Gueye come to mind.

Not sure Pitarch was there then though was he? I thought he only came in since the new blokes shoved Xia aside?

Pitarch definitely wasn't here when we signed all the French players. That was Paddy Riley.

Edit: don't think that's what Gar was getting at though.

Not too early though really is it? We're half a season in, and none of them have shown it. You'd expect one or two to.

Yes drawing a parallel between our signings last summer and that summer.

We signed players with an average value ifb£10m this summer. Hause was cheap.

Overall £10m doesn't buy much these days at all. The game has changed a lot since we were last up here.
