Hause is a much better player than Taylor, so he should play.  You only get one shot at this, and we can't afford any weak areas.

Maybe Taylor is given instructions not to cross it. Just a thought

If I was his boss I’d be telling him not to cross it too 😂

Taylor wasn't the only player to freeze in the final third, but he was our only defender not to concede possession cheaply in his own half. I'm not a fan but I think he's done ok and built up an understanding with El Ghazi, dropping him would be harsh imho.
That's where I'm at.
He comes in for some harsh criticism based on previous ineptitude. However, I agree that - being a left-footer an' all - he should be much better at delivering into the box. hopefully, that is what is being drilled into him over this next week.

This. He just is better in every area- bigger, stronger and more composed , the only thing I don’t know is whether he is faster ?

Faster, better passer, more adventurous.

Yep, and if you’re relying on a full back to be an attacking outlet it can’t be Taylor.

I’m not a Taylor fan but his relationship and understanding with AEG means Dean Smith will pick him. El Ghazi’s confidence and ability means teams have to be wary of him at all times and it hides a lot of Taylor’s deficiencies. So right I’d stick with Taylor.

Tend to agree TV, but I also like the idea of Hause on the bench as he can cover a lot of different positions/scenarios if players get injured.

It’s a good position to be in and a player that if selected or if he has to come on won’t let us down. And in the games vs Derby I don’t recall Taylor being targeted so I don’t think it’s a massive issue if gets picked.

I just think hause is the better player, including on the ball

Not sure the Taylor / el ghazi link up is so fundamental to our approach that it trumps that

I just feel that Taylor has too many mistakes in him, and that Derby with their youthful energy will target him down our left.

Defensively Taylor has been fine.
He gives the ball away too often in attack. His pass completion stats are 79% which is awful.
He gave the ball back to Albion 10 times in the second leg.
The opposition target him in the same way they did Cuellar, allowing him to be the pass that is on.
