I would obviously like to win; I wouldn't mind an away day out in the next round if possible.

The last 3 cup ties featuring a majority of reserves and youngsters have not gone well: Peterborough, Yeovil (although we won) and Burton and those were all against lower league opposition.

I am hoping that whoever comes in tomorrow at least makes a case for inclusion in the first team line up or match-day squad.

I'd rest the whole first team, let the u23s have a chance.

Not for me. A few changes maybe, but let's go for a win.

Part of me wants to agree but teams that make five or six changes tend to lose anyway, may as well give it to 11 youngsters that know each others game.

We need to get out of this league.

Whatever happens with the team I'm sure we'll do something a bit more thought out than playing Rushian Hepburn Murphy up front and hitting high balls with him hardly able to even see his nearest team-mate.

we do need to get out of this league
and winning football matches in any competition won't do us any harm

Where is he anyway, still injured?

I think defence especially Hutton and Chessie need resting
As do Hourihane and Mcginn in midfield

Be nice to give Hogan and Davis starts so hope smithy can be flexible with the whole 1 striker also Revans at left back for the opportunity to play

The  midfield picks itself perhaps with lansbury to come on

Steer in GK
Defence
Elmo Bree  Elphick  Revans

Midfielder
Whelan
Bjarnasson.

Attack wide
Adomah
Bolasie

Free role
Al Ghazi

Strike position
In ultra clear H D
Hogan Davis !

Let's say 3-1 win

Is that a 4-5-2 you're going with?

Or sorry the midfielder and striker is a either / or situation.

But I prefer two up front so maybe one midfielder

Listening to the presser I don't think he's going to throw in loads of kids. Personally I'd like to see ohare

But I think something like

Kalinic

Elmo elphick bree Taylor

Bjarnason whelan lansbury

Adomah Hogan Kodjia

audition to replace Abraham may be starting

Not a big fan of hogan, but if he plays we have to pass it on the deck more than we did against Qpr at times. And far fewer crosses from deep

If Hogan is playing I might be tempted to turn back and head back up the M6 - just watch him in the pre match warm ups - he looks so disinterested and I've yet to see him hit the target ;)
You watch him bag a brace now !!!!

You know what VCTM, you've just reminded me of something my tiny brain forgot!

We got in about 2.45 on Wednesday and the players had split into two groups, some were doing shooting drills in front of the Holte on the Trinity Rd side.

I couldn't make out who was in goal, I assume Bunn, but Ive not seen anything like it. He literally just stood there and barely moved a muscle, watching everything either fly past him or go wide. He then just ambled off the pitch.  Whoever it was shouldn't be at the club, never mind near the first XI.

i don't see how he's going to throw in loads of kids even if he wanted to because we've been saying all season

the kids aren't ready
the kids are injured
the kids aren't good enough
Smith has no options to play kids
the kids aren't alright

so to suddenly think he's going to fill the team with kids is a bit unrealistic

I'd go with that, I'd have 3-4 of the U23s on the bench as well.

I saw just now there are hardly any tickets left

I know season ticket holders get it free but even allowing for that, to sell out the rest of the ground is impressive.

And yes, I know season ticket holders are included in attendance figures whether they turn up or not.
