For some reason, I am thinking that the Albion game is the real acid test.  And yet we go there bang in form and with a Manager who doesn't seem to get nervous.

I'd love it if we could perform the same against Sandwell Town and absolutely batter them.

Derby battered them 4-1 at the Hawthorns. Even Boro beat them 1-0 and they're shite!

There are similarities with our team in that they have some real attacking quality (Barnes, Gayle, Rodriguez) but are proper vulnerable at the back.

Having said that, our attacking players are better than theirs and we have the stronger team overal, IMO.

I think the wins against Derby and on Saturday are comfortably the two best away results we've had since we dropped into the Championship.  We've had some good wins over the past couple of seasons, but they have tended to be against poorer opposition and they felt like somewhat one-off results as there wax never really any consistency of performance.

As Dave says in his piece though, that kind of consistency is starting to come together and those results do feel like a statement of intent.

That's Whelan's goal though. It was on target

Thing is it wasn’t going in until the keeper diverted it into the net. That’s why I’m guessing it will be an own goal.

Would it have gone in if the keeper wasn’t there? Yes, so it’s Whelan’s goal. That’s how they (usually) determine scorer.
