Almost 41,500 fans will be inside Villa Park for the most hotly-anticipated game on the calendar.

Where did the 1,000-plus seats go that we used to have in the stadium?!

Think this was mentioned in the Swansea post match thread but hospitality seats count towards the attendance and not as many occupied as when in premier league. There's also that corner bit under the big screen by the away end which isn't used anymore so that's 300-400 seats out of action.

You can't fail to sell overpriced seats in the hospitality areas and still claim it's a sell out.

Great news though sadly for me it's the first home game I'm going to miss versus them for 30 years ! Wife has a big Birthday so we are away.

If it had been on the Saturday as scheduled I could have gone. Anyone know the last time we played them at VP at 3pm on a Saturday? To be honest I don't actually think these games need to be shunted to Sunday's at noon any longer.

Since we started playing them quite regularly again from 2002 onwards I can't recall a Saturday game against them. Without cheating and looking it up, off the top of my head I reckon our last Saturday game against them was December 1987.

All Sunday 12:00 with the exception of 2 Monday night homages to the 1980s and a Tuesday and Wednesday evening.

Didn’t we play them at home on a Saturday lunchtime a few years ago, possibly when Houllier was manager? It was a 0-0 bore around October time.

Nope. Was a Sunday.

Fair enough. I thought it was a Saturday for some reason.

Was that the game only notable for Bannan going for a header against Zigic and a bloke in the Witton trying to head a ball that had gone out and ended up falling over?

Yes. He was then marched out of the ground to loud boos.

Lovely. And I’m pretty sure Dean Smith won’t be popping up any time soon with SOTC flag.

Oh dear. What a sad twat. Is that real?

It's the only way managers can survive there isn't it. Get in with them, so to speak.

Oh well. Pin it up on the dressing room wall pre match.

Everything about this is wrong but not getting the bollocks badge centred properly between the type is unforgivable. Everything they do is amateurish.

Monk strikes me as the sort of manager best suited to coming out and helping sell the service package and gap insurance on that second hand Volvo.

Is anybody really surprised at how unprofessional and small time they are?

They list the 1983 Atari 6-aside as an honour and have an ashtray from Barca in their trophy cabinet.

An utter embarrassment of a club.

How is that not bringing the game into disrepute? Aside from the rags permanently being an embarrassment, this is a disgrace.

Wasn't there a video going round end of last season of a few of their players singing SOTV in a bar in Brum?

I get their staff won't like us and anti-Villa stuff will get them brownie points from their fanbase but I agree does smack of small time mentality.

Would only say perhaps Monk was just asked to pose with a fan holding that flag up and didn't read what was actually on the front. Probably be a line he'll come out with if asked in his next press conference anyway.
