Welcome back Alf. We all feel your pain, I think, even if we might sometimes put it differently :) UTV

Thank you... sometimes I cut n pasted - way too much - and really got lost...I'll admit that.
Then the pro-Xia avalanche started and I tried to give as good as I got.

Then I thought... WTH... if  fans don't want discuss here...why bother ?

As an aside.....  :D

Is your username in any way related to a Merthyr Town Legend ?

I would Hope So..... a boyhood hero of mine. Never saw him play, just heard about him from kids I grew up with.

Take care mate.... :)

Cheers Alf :) Yes, I watched ‘Fearless Fred’ as he was known at Nuneaton Borough’s now long gone Manor Park ground in the 60’s.  That thrill of going to a live match under floodlights ( I was only 7 at the time) stuck with me for ever and I still get the same buzz every time I go to VP. Fred was a legend, a real hero of mine ( hence the name) long before I ever got to see the likes of Sir Brian, Sid, Gary Shaw etc. Although the nearest I got to meeting him was getting his autograph, by all accounts he was a top bloke and much loved in Merthyr. I guess we both owe our passion for football and our love for this bloody infuriating but wonderful team that we support from him.

I wrote out a bet for it to be a 1-1 draw but I was tied up in family court supporting my daughter so I eventually forgot about the bet and even the game itself until this morning (it was a bloody tough day). I can't remember the last time I didn't find out the score of a Villa game until the next day.

That truly was a lucky bag team selection last night. Dropping Elmo for Axel?

Bruce has lost his nerve Im afraid. In gambler mode now hoping to stumble across a winning team and formation. Not good enough.

rom the OS

The Boss: Bruce On Birkir Bjarnason...

He can feel harshly treated.

But he's had a long summer and I've tried to give him the rest he needs while I can.

I need him ready for this long marathon that we're about to embark on.

When we get to the middle of winter he'll be good for us.

Yes, I notice all the England squad are knackered after the summer too and not getting games....

And Spurs look iffier for it, while Liverpool who have rested Henderson are top of the league.

This smacks of Bruce getting his excuses in three months early. Middle of winter? What a load of bollocks.

I get what he's saying though. It's a long season and he'll need players like him to come in and do a job when it's needed. All manager's need players like that in their squad.

For this league we need 15/16 starters, who fit into a settled system.... ah.

Should we then expect all our internationals to enjoy extended breaks after they've donned their national shirt, just in case we need them for in the spring? He got knocked out of the World Cup on the same day as Jedinak.

If Barney hadn't scored yesterday, he'd be nowhere near the starting eleven for Tuesday. Elmo had a day off, he'd be straight back in.

I've thought for a little bit now that he's got (what is now) two more games regardless.

Aye.  If it goes to one win in ten I don't think even his mates at tawkspawt will be offering much of a defence.

Point taken although let's be honest, if the majority of the regular poster's on here wrote out their starting 11, he'd probably be on the bench for most of them.

The OS on twitter has posted up the highlights from last night. It's 9 seconds long and just shows the goal. That's got to be a piss take by someone who runs the club's twitter page surely?

To be fair it’s probably more to do with putting something half decent together from Sky’s eye-bleedingly awful coverage.

I watched it with Chico and he said it was like watching footage filmed on a mobile phone. First time I have seen the Sky red button mullarkey - it’s shit, but better than nothing. No replays, but there was nothing worth replaying anyway.
