I wouldnt have cared if we'd sold him for £5m three weeks ago, absolute rammed my thoughts down my throat.

Same, looks a diferent player since getting back in the team.

So that's what he does in training - bloody hell, that was some finish.

You've been his biggest critic !

Honestly I thought this season he'd be a casualty of our levelling-up, and it certainly seemed that way at first. The last few games, however, he's seriously increased what I reckon his ceiling is, and totally beyond what I'd predicted. Really seriously impressive.

Everybody knows now that their place isn't nailed on, and if you want to get in, you have to take your chance with both hands, and play at a consistent level. So far he's doing that, and more power to him.

He’s clearly worked bloody hard at his game. He’s doing his pressing work much more diligently.

He may have been frustrated and disappointed that Trez was in the team ahead of him this season but the results justified the decision. The real key factor though of picking Trez in front of him was the workrate. AEG is now putting in a shift, something that was never really part of his game. Neither are great footballers but at least now AEG is for the first time doing more right than wrong. I reckon he's a real confidence player so should be buzzing after that goal. There's so much he needs to do to become a regular but I can't fault his effort, he's learning and growing at the same time.

If he can add to his game some crossing and improve on his shooting from open play, he may be another player that we look to keep rather than replace. Right now I'll just sit back and enjoy that goal. It was perfect.

Ha! The jury is still out but as above, when he deserves praise, he'll get it. See Targett, Matthew.

He took his goal brilliantly today but there was a point early in the second half wide on the right just in from the touchline when he just bamboozled two Palace players with dummied a pass which left them looking at each other and then at him in complete disbelief as he closed in on the penalty area.

Yup, that was lovely. Last couple of matches are probably the best he's ever been for us.

Put in some cracking crosses in the second half too. One of which Watkins should have done a lot better with. Two feet, quick, built like a brick shithouse...he has all the skills to be a top player, whether he has it upstairs is another matter

I always had faith in him but jacked it in after his cameo at West Ham when he was shocking....😂

Great vote of confidence for him today, to be kept on in favour of Traore.

Totally agree and showed Deano that the trust wasn’t misplaced by scoring a scorcher!

Sky used to measure the speed of shots, would be curious to know what mph that was as it hit the net.

Playing like a man possessed right now. Another critical goal, and another sneaking in at the back post. Well done, great display again today.
