I've only really hated Gabor Kiraly after that FA Cup game at Old Trafford, and frankly he deserved it. Gets the chance to play in goal for Aston Villa and goes out looking like Compo from Last of the Summer Wine.

Indeed. To his credit, at least Anwar 'looks' like a footballer.

I don't know with Collymore if it was so much "couldn't be arsed" as "suffered with well documented mental health problems".

Genuine question, does Collymore get a free pass for being shit for us because of his mental health problems?

Are we sure Ireland and Callaghan weren't suffering from similar?

The ones that get a complete no-no from me are Hodge, Ireland, Richards and Charles because they clearly had attitude (of the wrong sort)  ... I'm sure there are others!
AEG just frustrates me because I'm sure he could be better.

He’s too hot and cold. We need consistency at this point. Sell or use in a swap.

Am I right in thinking that Gary Charles had a few publicized 'emotional issues' similar to Collymore?

Didn’t Ireland win player of the season one year ?
(Admittedly he was shit for the most part )

He came on as a sub against Arsenal under McLeish and looked lively and scored against Chelsea. It was as much a "please come good" award as anything else.

Awful player, get rid. Though I thought he was going to be a star.

Him, Nakamba and Samatta just aren't good enough, unless we want to finish 17th.

Flatters to deceive pretty much sums up AEG. It looked like he had potential and knocked in a few important goals, but last season really showed up his limitations...limited pace and skills means he can barely beat his man down the wing, and when he does his crossing is more often than not piss poor. Sell.

I was nervous when I saw who was taking the penalty but well done to him for being cool and executing so well. Good to see some of the non-starters looking to stake their claim for a start and create more competition.

Bloody great pen - well done Anwar. When he’s come on this season he’s looked sharp.
