Ironically, Trez would have been on the end of that all day long.

Trez was absolutely abysmal tonight. Truly appalling.

When we laugh at Ronnie Rosenthal all those years ago this was in the history of Aston Villa so much worse and impactful a miss.

You try to white knight me for criticising el ghazi and in the same sentence you slag off Davis, who actually IS a youngster and who also did his bit to get us up last season. At least troll me coherently.

There's a difference between criticism and blaming him for our relegation. he's been average on the whole but just dont understand why he's suddenly become a player which people hate ('******' / 'wanker'). I reckon he'll become a decent player at this level.

I haven't got a problem with Davis either. The point I'm making is he's been poor since the restart but doesn't get anything like the level of flack as EG. 3 years difference (and he didnt contribute to our promotion either).

We do have a tendency to call players all manner of wankers/c***s when they don't perform brilliantly, as if they're doing it on purpose. Myself included, from time to time. It isn't on, really.

Yes I get the frustration, but there's no way that most people would even dream of saying such things to their face.

He’s not a ****** or anything like that. It was just a bad miss.

Personally, I don’t ‘suddenly’ have a problem with El Ghazi. I’ve had a problem with his attitude for a long time and, as mentioned above, there are various examples of his attitude appearing to be questionable. I don’t really like the guy - I’ve also not liked various other players who I’ve never met, it might shock you to learn. I sometimes call them rude names after a disappointing loss, but again, I don’t think any of them are going to read my cruel words and - in the unlikely event that they were trawling H&V for feedback after missing a sitter - I honestly don’t think they’d be that bothered.

I shouldn’t use cuss words, but then I don’t tell my fellow posters to shut up because I disagree with them. Strokes for folks I guess.

He isn't a ****** or anything, he's just an intensely rubbish, piss poor excuse for a winger.  I hope that miss haunts him for years.  I can take a player missing because they're not very good, but not because they're scared of getting hurt.

More seriously, of course I agree with this.

I’m sure we’re all unlikeable gobshites on here compared to the charming people we are in real life, especially immediately after a last minute capitulation that has probably relegated us. I reserve the right to let off steam in an anonymous echo chamber of similarly pissed of people without being told to shut up.

Is that so terrible? I think there a bit of a running joke that fans demonise players in over the top ways who have done something laughably trivial compared to any real life problem of any magnitude.

Yep. Fans can smell a player that is better than their commitment and performances a mile off.

I actually think he’s a very talented bloke but he’s shown on various occasions he’s a liability in a scrap and that pisses me off.

Trezeguet is a poor player, for example, but he runs his bollocks off, so I’m much less inclined to give him pelters.

Haha yes I was exaggerating a bit, I meant to say ‘very slightly less unlikeable gobshites.’
