Has he done a Diane Abbott with his boots?

His finishing has been dreadful so far this season. He's fluffed so many tap ins.

He needs a few weeks out to try and lose his poor form and low confidence.

From what I’ve seen this season the guy is obviously out of form and low on confidence, I’m just not convinced he has the mental and physical toughness to make the step up. Of course I hope I’m wrong but like Jota and numerous others I just don’t think he’s good enough for this level.

He's a young and inexperienced player and like most wingers, blows hot and cold.

He's got the talent, had a decent return of goals and gets in good positions. Much like last season he started well, was dropped, came back very low on confidence and then turned into Ronaldo for a bit.

How good he can be depends on how consistent he can become. With the change of system, I'd give him a couple weeks out.

The trouble is his replacement in Trezeguet isn’t much better.

As a winger he is, but I felt he actually played well in deeper inside forward position, both on and off the ball. He lacks the pace the play wide in a 433.

Like has been mentioned before, might be worth trying him as a centre forward type, similar to Vardy.
Bit late to trial it in cup games, though

I thought when he signed his new contract that he would be a decent squad player.

He can be frustrating, but he at least occasionally delivers, he's far from our worst player.

I like him, he's inconsistent especially his finishing but more often than not he's involved in our good play and seems the only player we have who has the natural instinct to get into those goal scoring areas in te box, even if he does miss more of them than he should.

Should have been given a go several weeks ago.

It's very difficult when you can be out of a game completely for 10/15 minutes and then suddenly receive the ball and be expected to open up a defence instantly.  That's why so few do it consistently and why the go for £50 million plus.

We need to improve our wide players (or maybe tuck them further inside in the 5311 system.  Many have been an advocate of AEG being more central (something I didn't want but perhaps a compromise is worth looking at).

agreed - there's not many wingers that are consistent, even the £40-50mil ones are more often than not inconsistent....

Sterling, Mane and Salah are the only really consistent ones in England this season.
