Also had a powerful shot saved.  I think this is the power of strength in depth - he lost his starting place on Friday to Jota who takes his chance and plays well and gets an assist, so when El Ghazi comes on he shows what he’s capable of and gets a goal, sending a message to the departing Jota that he needs to keep performing too.

Beautiful symmetry.   8)

Definitely keeps the players on their toes. AEG came on fired up and made an impact, so he’s made his claim for a starting spot and that could be at the expense of Trez rather than Jota.

I like AEG. Don’t forget he’s a young lad too taking a big step up from the Championship. His attitude has been great and it shows whether it is him or Trez or Jota coming off the bench they can all do a job. And hopefully in time that will go for Marvelous or even the likes of Lansbury or Davis or Konsa etc when called upon. Everyone has an important role to play.

Yeah, he’s a good lad and I love that he showed how much the play-off final and promotion meant to him, even though he was only on loan, and that he really wanted to stay with us.

When I think of how many players we’ve bought over the years just looking for a payday or not giving a shit, it’s refreshing.

He showed great confidence and drive for the 2nd goal.  The ball was on it's way to Jack but he thought, " I'm a goalscorer, I'll take over"  I'm glad he did.

He gives the team a different dimension when he comes on the pitch with his energy.

There's also the fact that he realised Ramadan was having a negative effect on his fitness, so he put his team mates and club first, over his religious beliefs.  I imagine for a muslim that's quote a big thing to do.

He was disappointing the first two games, but as the team as a whole finds its feet, hopefully he will too.  Loved his confidence on Friday night, as most people would just have tried to walk the ball into the corner.

Agreed, but compared to Trez, he's as tough as Shaun Teale.

Ronaldo he ain't. The only thing they share in common are the eyebrows. He's no winger, either. He manages to do one thing well in a game and then disappears. If he really does have to play, I'd prefer to see him playing more inside. Took his goal very well today. Maybe something to build on?

Two goals and an assist in five and a bit Premier League games isn’t a bad start.  If he kept that rate up over a season then that would be an involvement in 19 league goals.

Totally agree if he keeps that sort of form up he will be in double figures for goals and that's what we need we need everybody to chip in and get there fair share of goals.

This might sound a bit daft but why not play him as our main striker?  He has more of an eye for goal than Wesley I think.

Our Sir Woodhall called this before the game on Saturday. He may be the best striker we have at the moment.

Playing well, 2 very good assists so far. May not look like a great contributor but he’s always involved in goals and numbers starting to speak for themselves.
