Got to say when I first saw him at home against Sheff Wed I thought another journeyman but he has surprised and he now works and plays like a left winger. - Cant head mind bar the play off goal.
Aston Villa is delighted to announce that Anwar El Ghazi has joined the club on a four-year deal. The Dutch international enjoyed a highly impressive loan spell at Villa Park last season after signing from French outfit Lille. And the 24-year-old, who scored at Wembley in the play-off final, will now have the opportunity to showcase his talents in the Premier League after moving for an undisclosed fee.El Ghazi was recently regarded as one of the hottest prospects in European football after coming through the ranks at the world-renowned Ajax academy and was a major success story in last term’s successful promotion push with six goals in 37 appearances.Head Coach, Dean Smith, said: “Anwar proved to everybody at Wembley how good a player he can be for Aston Villa.“He’s ready for the step up to the Premier League and he’s a young player who has an awful lot of potential. It’s now my job and the job of the coaching staff and Anwar himself to fulfil the potential that he undoubtedly has.“He’ll be a great addition to the squad for next season.”
Great news. He really showed how good he can be towards the end of the season, and importantly, he also showed good attitude to come back from a less than stellar start. I like him a lot.
