I'd like to see him in the middle as well, although I worry he'd be a bit too "headless chicken".

His cross for the goal yesterday was excellent too, which you'd obviously lose if you brought him inside.

Very hot and cold player.

I agree he has technique to play as number 10 so surprised DS seems to only be playing him as wide player.

Granted

Smith at Brentford not one for all these crosses but has used that with squad disposal
I think was a major contrast to villa and Brentford with amount of balls into box from crosses under Bruce whilst Deano was Brentford coach.

There was a stat about it villa being top for crosses Brentford being quite the opposite

Now tammy out way maybe can look to floor play with Hogan and cute balls thru

And in the naughty nineteens role swapping, let's try Keinan Davis as a centre half, strong, mobile, good in the air, won't score many own goals.

Has he ever played in that role?

He’s got a great first touch and decent delivery but I haven’t seen anything to suggest he is a a replacement for Grealish.

I don't think he has

He just looks like he could do it to me. Expecially as a stop gap

But cant see him playing where grealish has been. More of a number 10 with two behind him

Have we got an option to make him permanent?

Have we got the option to buy this fella?  He’s getting better every game.

From what I remember when he signed there was a £5m option reported, I hope that's true, he's well worth it. He's been up and down form wise but there's more than enough quality there for him to be worth taking a gamble on.

Another player who looks more confident and physically stronger.
Maybe this old fashioned idea of a manager being at the trading ground and working with players is something to do with it.

Did I read somewhere that we have an obligation to buy, rather than an option?

if so, like with Scott Sinclair.

Its a Mendes signing isn't it, linked to our new owners?

Having a winger at this level that is equally accomplished on either foot is a big plus. Clearly a very talented player and workrate has improved. Hard pre-season to improve his conditioning and we could have a real player on our hands.

Still 50/50 for me. He's got talent but it's not shown enough during 90 minutes to warrant a decent price tag. If it's over 5m i'd be trying to back out of it.
