Interesting question. Who could be our player of the season, not who is so far, bear in mind there is more than half a season to go.
But i'd list  Anwar, along with Jack, SJM, Axle and Tammy.

I feel pretty good thinking Pt could be anyone from five.

Player of the season since Smith arrived would be a contest between Abraham, McGinn, tuanzebe for me

I think we have a potential superstar on our hands with this lad.  His look and style of running and playing is uncannily like Ronaldo, obviously not as good - yet.....

It is some transformation since his debut.

I thought his debut was decent. He certainly got a good reception when he was subbed.

After that though, for whatever reasons, he's not featured until the Boro game.

Its entirely down to coaching. You could see when he came on against Norwich (I think-or maybe QPR) he struggled for the time he was on to get used to the system, but learned very quickly. He can now play with either full-back and has confidence to take players on. Still work to do in closing down the long ball, but getting better by the game.

He did score up at Sheffield United although forgetting that game is understandable.

I wouldn't underestimate how important Jack has been, his contribution is massive but often 1-2 passes before the assist so it gets missed.

Look at the first goal against Albion. When Anwar got the ball. there were 3 defenders in front of him. Jack made a run out wide, and 2 followed him. That;s nearly always the case. He opens up  play

He mentioned in an interview a month or so ago he was surprised by the physicality of the Championship.  I'm sure Smith has had a part to play but it's also about him needing time to get up to speed in a new country and new league.

He looks good at the moment let's hope he can keep it up.

At some point in the near future I expect Bruce (who will be back in management at say Sheffield Wednesday) to be on the Alan Brazil show spouting some shit about not being a bad judge of players and pointing to the likes of El Ghazi, Tuanzebe and McGinn as examples.  Failing to realise that he had no idea what to do with them.

It's a bit like buying a Porsche or Ferrari for racing.
In the right hands, it will perform brilliantly. But put an old dinosaur behind the wheel who thinks you still need to pull out choke to get started, and you wont see it at its best.
Most managers are capable of buying a decent car, not all can get them to perform.

At one point after his goal on Friday he was actually taking the piss out of at least two Albion defenders down their left side with his flicks, touches and nutmegs. I said to the missus it was like watching Ronaldo. Exciting player.

I hope he does. I hope he spends the rest of his life talking about how Aston Villa's success is down to him.
