You still have to get international clearance to transfer between clubs in football federations in different countries.  I think that even applies for  transfers between Scotland and England for example, so we would have had to have received international clearance for McGinn when he joined us from Hibs before he could play for us.

Yep but this isn't a work permit, it's a player registration, it often takes a couple of days for players coming from abroad.

There's a YouTube video him arriving at BHX and seeing the home of football for the first time.

Lovely to.see his reaction to how good Villa Park is and how John Terry has been telling Loic Remy about how good our away following is.

Special place Villa Park, especially under lights. That proved controversial for a few the last time I uttered it.

Ads, he comes across as a lad who really wants to come to the club and pleased with that. Hopefully another plus for John Terry as well, know he is Chelsea through and through, but he also has felt real passion at Villa and the away support is second to none, We have to make VP a fortress as well where opposition players worry

Villa park is a fortress, our home record is fine. We need to go away against midtable teams planning on winning the game rather than playing to keep it tight and cross our fingers. Too many times last season we seemed content to play for the clean sheet against teams we'd have smashed if we'd just attacked them.

We have a great record at home, but many of them have been lucky to be fair. Go at teams and the same goes for away games. If we have the players, impose themselves and this is my problem with the manager and I hope he will kick on from Wednesday and let them express themselves

I think our home record is W27 D16 L5, which is pretty decent.

Just watched his Ajax YouTube video.

Always difficult to get a true picture but from what you can see he appears;

Very quick
Very strong
Good on his left or right foot
Hits a shot like a traction engine

Hopefully he got international clearance so we can have a look at him today.

I think his pace would certainly help away from home. I don't think we've been good enough as a counter attacking unit away from home as we have never been able to stretch teams with pace.

He really comes across well, however I have one question, Why the F^"K has Micah Richards got a locker at Bodymoor Heath?

It’s where he keeps his mop and bucket.
