Still 50/50 for me. He's got talent but it's not shown enough during 90 minutes to warrant a decent price tag. If it's over 5m i'd be trying to back out of it.

Know what you mean.  But I'd say it's more 70/30 in favour of keeping him as I think he could be outstanding.

But given I thought he was Bosko-esque, it's good I'm not in charge of player procurement / retention.

I thought he worked his nuts off on Saturday, came back and helped out Taylor a few times, if he isn't too dear, I would keep him.

He is getting better.  If we are in this league next season, then I would absolutely keep him, although I am not sure he's good enough for the top division, yet.

I reckon he'll be a reasonable fee and probably worth taking the punt. When he's on song he's v good (Hawthorns) but does have an off day. But you could say that about 99% of young wingers so he has potential and probably worth investing in. Depends on whether Smith feels he can play his system.

Setup a goal and tracked back very well. Getting better with time and coaching. Definitely sign him whichever div we’re in.

AA only has a year left on his contract so I'm expecting he will probably get a 2 yr contract offer elsewhere. Green still unproven. Likely we will be bringing in a player out wide even if we don't get promoted.

Edited as when he signed the club announced 4 years so smeg knows why loads of places are saying he's out of contract in the summer!

I agree that after January's work on rebuilding the defence, CURRENTLY, wide positions are high on the priority list of improvement.

A lot will depend on what division we are in.  Fail to gain promotion and we'll very likely lose Mings, Grealish and possibly SJM.  This will mean positions to fill all over the field.  In this scenario, El Ghazi  would be a no brainer to sign (at the reported £4 million).  Even if we went up, I would be inclined to stick with him at that price.  If he can find consistency, he will cut it in the prem - If he doesn't, his fee wouldn't be a massive outlay in the grand scheme of things.

I’d keep him if the fee is reasonable. We already know him and he’s spent a season with these coaches in this setup. He’s a good player on his day, just needs a little bit more consistency which will hopefully come with experience. No guarantee we’ll end up with a better replacement if we spend the money elsewhere.

Must admit, I thought that he was only on loan

General ability wise, I'd put him alongside Bjarnason. It's just that Bjarnason has real competition in his position whereas El Ghazi doesn't really.  Not being bad to Bjarnason as I like him as well.  El Ghazi is flourishing in a winning team at the mo and playing games.

I'd put him in the 'odd glimpses of quality but generally gash' category.

PWS was replying to the comment about AA and whether he is on a 3 or 4 year contract.
