I hardly noticed him when he came on to be honest, not really his sort of game when we don't have much possession.

I thought he was on for the set piece deliveries corners and any free kicks towards the end of the game as we were chasing and that was probably our best chance of scoring
I donít mind using him like that

but in open play heís invisible

Pretty much all of our midfield were invisible yesterday when we had the ball as we kept bypassing them by hoofing it long and giving away possession cheaply.

I thought Luiz had a good game other than a couple of loose passes, I thought his defensive work in particular was much better. It looked to me like he was more used to how they play and was reading the game better than he has in other matches, which is probably expected because he has been around their tour squads and training camps a fair bit.

Absolutely agree when we didnít have the ball, but they were bypassed most of the time when we did (havenít checked the possession stats but it wasnít a lot).

Edit:
Possession: 30% < 70%
Passes: 285 < 669

I know I wasnít imagining it when we kept losing possession or the ball was lumped long from the back towards Samatta time and time again.

That was down to their press more than our midfielders not looking for the ball though, there were plenty of times that Jack and Luiz in particular were moving but couldn't seem to find any space.

sorry mate but right now we are never going to out pass Man City
going toe to toe on a possession competition there will only be one winner

you have to find other ways of competing and we did
for a lot less possession we caused them some trouble and they were hanging on in the end by the width of a goal post so we must have been doing something right

Which is why I think we may be better with 2 strikers ...a flat 3 MF then Jack behind 2 strikers .Be a bit more direct have Davis and Samatta closer to each other to occupy the CB's

I hardly noticed him when he came on to be honest, not really his sort of game when we don't have much possession.

It was his delivery that Engels forced the big save from. Thought he got on the ball a bit in dangerous areas, failing to make the most of those two crosses but at least got into those positions.

Doubt he won a tackle, mind or involved much in developing play from the back. We know his strengths and weaknesses by now. Still a decent option for us off the bench. Unlike Trez who seems to be getting worse by the game.

Heíd be a great player if we played to those America Football type rules
where you can bring players on and off at will depending on whatís doing

least thatís what I think they do I actually know fuck all about American Football
