Not what I had in mind but let’s see where we end up.

I thought RDL is back for this game. Why isn’t he in the squad?

I'm guessing GK-4-2-3-1.

If it is I like that, and the options we have to keep that shape and change the personnel.

New keeper
Elmohamady-Axel-Chester-Hutton
Jedi-McGinn
Albert-Jack-Thor
Jimmy

Dreadful.

Not the right choice.

I’ll take that as it’s not Jedinak playing CB

Expect it to be 4-3-3 like last week with Elmo and Adomah wide of Kodjia and McGinn, Grealish and Bjarnsson in the middle.

Is there a possibility that it is three at the back - Tuanzebe, Chester and Jedinak, with Elmo and Hutton at wing back?

You might be right - probably wishful thinking on my part.

Though 4-2-3-1 offers protection and the prospect of getting forward and more importantly has round pegs in round holes. That is key (for me) as is the intent that he asks them to play with.

Otherwise we have no discernible plan and have to rely on someone doing something exceptional to score/win. UTV.

For me, it is a sad indictment of Bruce that into his third season and with knowing the line-up, we are guessing as to how we will play?!

I'm not obsessed with formations as intent/approach and the level of performance wins (or loses) games but it is a clear signal of a plan and some sense of what the intent/approach will be, i.e. how will we win the ball back and how are we organised to create chances. UTV.
