A win is a win and I thought Bruce's line up was correct.  Individual mistakes happen.  Move Tuanzebe next to Chester and bring in RDL to right back next week.  Would love to see us bring in a midfield unit to free up McGinn and Grealish even more.  Need another striker too to push Kodjia.  Well done Villa.

Anyone know the attendance please?

I thought kodj was better today but really needs a goal, just to chill him out a bit.

Nice to see adomah get some time in his natural position for a change.

Good point but he seemed to lack confidence   What was jedinak playing at today 1 out 10 for turning up   Grealish much too deep, axel not good enough, Kodja no idea what he was meant to be doing but promising from mcginn. One comment needs making about jack’s tackling. Won’t be long before he gets a straight red

Great to win it at the death, was just starting to think that a point wouldn’t be the end of the world.

It’s the ideal scenario really- maximum points, but the weaknesses were displayed and identifiable whilst the window is still open. Bruce seemed very unhappy with the way we were so ponderous for many of Wigan’s crosses second half, let’s hope he can sort it.

Personally I thought Kodjia, though nowhere near his best, looked sharper than last week and was slightly encouraged, I hope he doesn’t become the new scapegoat...

Kodjia looks very low on confidence, shame he missed that sitter in the second half, as he needs a goal.  McGinn looks a really exciting prospect and is exactly what we've been lacking in midfield since Milner left.  Greaish was kicked all over the place yet again - I think Bruce needs to start putting pressure on referees as it's absurd the way opposing teams go after him.   As others have said, the ref was abysmal.

6 points is great, but I can't fathom what our game plan is.  We also need a centre half as I never want to see Jedinak or Elphick there again.

I thought he was mostly below par in it to be honest, that pass towards the end was awful.

just home. What a dogs breakfast we are at the back. If you invite Tuanzebe back at least play him in position. I thought we really missed some of last season's loan players today - Terry at the back, Snoddy wide and dare I say it, Johnstone in goal. I don't know what Nyland's been playing but its not football. As for Kodjia - the player of two years ago would have scored to today if not three,

Hmmmm quite a few talking points from that.

McGinn is bloody marvellous, what a breath of fresh air to see a midfielder who has so much drive and mobility. And great delivery from corners and free kicks. I think we just may have a gem there.

Tuanzebe, just like the few games he played last season, he got dragged out of position a few times, but he his very mobile and quick to recover. I don’t think we can trust him at centre half yet.

Barney. The good the bad and the brilliant from him. Tidied up and intercepted well but his distribution is poor. And his first touch that bounced 20 feet away from him was awful.
But, again he was in the right place at the right time when it mattered.

Green, I just don’t get it with him. Looks frightened to death to get involved.

Finally, Jedinak. I think he has finally ‘jumped the shark’ to coin a phrase. He has been a decent servant, but I think today showed he is starting to lose it.

All in all a good (but lucky) win, but there is a hell of a lot to come from this team yet

Left the pub in Spain more than a little disappointed with the home draw, rather more impressed to learn we’d grabbed a very late winner.

Not sure if it was just the broadcast but it seemed extremely quiet today apart from the last 20 minutes. The crowd looked more they were watching a tennis match than a football match.

Lovely stuff, sounds like we got away with it a bit and there are ares of confer (defence, striker). But we won and it’s two from two and McGinn sounds like a belter.
